If Ntoupa Epoupa was a big player to write about, then Ngezi might have just struck a golden find. Epuopa arrived at Dynamos last year with very little known pedigree. However he immediately made an impact in a league where strikers have suddenly gone scarce. The Cameroonian import bagged a whooping dozen goals to finish runners up to the eventual golden boot winner Dominic Chungwa.
On the other hand the Ghanaian import Gilbert Fiamenyo comes with a rich pedigree of having a one-week tryout-contract with the Swedish club Djurgårdens IF where he scored a goal in his first U21-game with the club, ending up winning with 2–0 over Enköping. He went on to score 20 goals in 40 appearances for Heart of Lions before signing for Hearts of Oak. He had a good spell at Hearts of Oak that drew interest from the biggest club in Scandinavia (Hammarby) . The Oaks put a high price-tag on him until he saw out his contract to join Ebusua Dwarfs. His exploits at Dwarfs saw him move to Kenya’s AFC Leopards. His arrival was met with tremendous success in the club where his goal-scoring instincts earned him a place in Africa Best 11 players in April 2017 in a side that featured big players such as Muhammad Salah and Abuameyang. He has been capped 7 times by Ghana national team.
He later sealed a move to replace the departed Edward Sadomba at Ahly Benghazi. This is were his UK based agent Joe Mhondiwa negotiated his exit to join Ngezi Platinum that fell shy of winning the league in the last 3 games of the season where they eventually finished third. Speaking to Joe he had this to say about the striker ” It has never been easy to attract highly rated international players of this caliber to a league as ours, there are two clubs in Zambia that have given us an ultimatum of never to propose players to them again if we wont bring Gilbert to them”. It’s left to see how he will settle in Mhondoro and hopefully will be joined by James Bissue who also have plaid in Israel and USA before.
